Saw my neighbor's porch go from drab to fab with just paint and a $15 welcome mat
Last Tuesday I was walking my dog past Mrs. Gable's house (she's 78 and never changes anything). She'd painted her front door a bright teal and swapped out that worn gray mat for a navy one with white lettering. The whole porch looked alive for maybe $20 total. Has anyone else found one cheap change that suddenly makes your house look cared for instead of just... existing?

Funny you mention this because I painted my own front door a burnt orange color last spring and my neighbor actually asked if I was selling the house. So not quite the same vibe. But that mat swap idea is genius, mine is currently a flattened moss situation that I pretend is a doormat. Might need to copy Mrs. Gable's homework here.

My friend painted her door bright yellow and her HOA sent her a letter saying it looked like a school bus parked in her front yard. She ended up painting it back to white just to stop the drama.
