Spent 20 bucks on a tube of construction adhesive instead of calling a plumber for that leaky pipe joint under the sink last Tuesday

Wrapped the cracked PVC in a dry rag first then smeared the adhesive all over the joint and let it cure for 24 hours, has anyone else had this hold up longer than a month or did I just get lucky?

Jumped in and did the exact same thing last fall when my bathroom sink pipe started dripping. That construction adhesive is tough stuff if you let it cure properly, I wrapped mine in an old cotton t-shirt first and put the glue on thick, probably used a whole tube honestly. It held for about five months before I finally replaced the pipe, but I only fixed it because I was already tearing out the vanity, not because it was leaking again. You should be good for a while, just don't go banging on it or turning the water pressure up too high.

Held for five months with construction adhesive and a t-shirt though... I mean, if it worked it worked I guess. But are we really acting like a glue and rag fix is serious plumbing? Seems like a good way to find a puddle under your vanity at 2 AM when the cold water kicks on.
