Wasted $600 on a radon mitigation system I didn't need

Paid $600 for a radon test and mitigation system based on a 48 hour test kit. Turns out the levels were high because the window was cracked during a rainstorm. Retested a month later with the window sealed and it was fine. Anyone else get burned by a rushed home inspection add on?

Did you check the seal on that window before paying for the whole system? Thats a rough lesson to learn. A cracked window during a storm can mess with those short tests big time. You probably saved the next person from the same mistake though.

Oh man, that stings... @clairebaker is right though, at least you're the one who took the hit so nobody else has to learn that lesson the hard way. I once paid a guy $300 to tell me my pipes were fine, then found out they weren't two days later...
