That 'inspection waiver' nearly cost me $15,000
I was SO ready to waive the home inspection to compete with other buyers in Denver. My realtor pushed back hard and I almost ignored them. Turns out the house had a failing sewer line that would've cost 15 grand to fix. Who else has been pressured to skip inspections and regretted it?

Right, because who needs to know if the ground is basically swallowing your waste for fifteen grand? I'm sure that's a great conversation starter with the neighbors. "Hey, nice house, hope you've got a spare fifteen thousand for the poop pipe." Real talk, your realtor saved your bacon.

$15k for a sewer line? Man, that's a whole separate mortgage payment right there. My buddy paid that for a new septic system last year and I swear he still brings it up at every barbecue like it's a war story. Even worse when the realtor doesn't say anything and you're stuck with the bill after closing. Good thing yours was honest or you'd be kicking yourself every time you flushed.
