Hit day 90 on my sourdough starter and it still tastes flat

I kept reading that by 2 weeks your starter should be doubling and giving you tangy bread. Mine took almost 3 months to even get close to doubling consistently. I've been using whole wheat flour from a local mill, feeding it at 1:1:1 every 12 hours like clockwork. Still, the bread I bake barely has that sour taste people rave about. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but has anyone else had a starter that just refused to get tangy no matter what you did?

Ugh same, mine took forever to wake up too, it's so frustrating.

My friend Sarah had the same problem with her tablet. She finally figured out it was a bad charger cable, not the actual device. Swapped it out for a cheap new one from the drugstore and it started charging normally again within an hour. Took her three weeks of blaming the tablet before she tried that. Always check the simple stuff first, it's almost never the thing you think it is.
