Reminds me of a neighbor who insisted on using river rocks for a patio base. That thing shifted like crazy after one winter.

My uncle's patio in Michigan sank three inches after using smooth stones. Honestly, river rocks just don't lock together like crushed gravel does. That whole project was a total waste of money.
