Took me seeing a thrifted dress in Seattle to finally get pleats right
I watched a woman walk by Pike Place Market in this cheap 90s pleated skirt that moved like liquid. It hit me that I was overthinking my own designs with too many seams and not enough fabric flow. Has anyone else had a random street sighting change how they approach a pattern?
Saw a guy in Brooklyn once wearing this oversized men's blazer with the sleeves pushed up just so. It looked like it cost a fortune but was probably a thrift find. Made me think about how much fabric can do the work for you if you let it hang right. Sometimes less seams really is more.
