A week in Tokyo's streets convinced me that asymmetrical cuts are overdue for a comeback.

The layered, uneven styles I saw there prove that perfect symmetry is overrated in modern design.

Ha! My hair's been in an asymmetrical cut for years, but only because I keep getting bad haircuts that grow out weird. The left side always ends up with these sad, uneven layers while the right side just does its own thing. Guess I was accidentally trendy before it was cool in Tokyo.

Oh man, my attempt at an asymmetrical cut was a total accident too. I tried trimming my own bangs last year in a moment of wild confidence and my bathroom mirror lies. Ended up with one side basically above my eyebrow and the other side brushing my cheek. Looked like two different people fought over my hair with dull scissors. I just wore a hat for a solid month.

Right? That hat commitment is real. @taylor.elliot I think you might be onto something with the "accidentally trendy" thing, my left side has been doing its own thing for years too (except it's from a roofing ladder incident, not a haircut).
