Hit the sweet spot with a 5 dollar heat gun from a garage sale
My cheap hair dryer died mid project so I grabbed this old heat gun for 5 bucks and it fixed the shrink wrap on my vacuum hose in 2 minutes flat. Anyone else find killer deals at garage sales for tool repairs?

Fixed the shrink wrap on my vacuum hose" - man that's such a simple fix but it makes all the difference. My buddy Dave found a beat up Milwaukee Sawzall at a garage sale for ten bucks last summer, looked like it had been through a war. He took it home, cleaned the contacts with some rubbing alcohol, and it fired right up. Used it to demo his whole basement that fall and it's still going strong. Some of the best tools I've seen come out of those dusty garage sales where people just want stuff gone.
