That one call at the old hospital in Springfield that ate my whole weekend
Got called for a stuck car at Mercy General, figured it was a simple door lock issue. Turned out to be a frayed governor rope on the old Otis 401 that was just barely catching, causing random safety trips. Spent almost 14 hours over two days tracing intermittent faults before I found it. Anyone else run into a governor problem that hid itself that well?

My buddy had a "single bad wire" in his truck that took three mechanics a week to find.

Honestly, that's the worst kind of problem. It reminds me of how the smallest, most worn out part can bring a whole system to a halt. You see it everywhere, not just in machines. A single bad wire in a house, one rusty bolt on a truck gate. It's always the thing you don't think to check first that costs you the most time.
