I finally talked to a guy who still fixes old tube radios in his garage.
He told me he keeps a notebook with every single fix, even the ones that took him three tries to get right. It made me realize I just snap a phone pic and move on, and I'm probably losing a lot of that hard won knowledge. Do you keep a proper repair log, or do you rely on digital notes and memory?

Know exactly what you mean... I used to just take a blurry photo and forget about it. Then I had to fix the same stupid lawnmower carburetor three times in one summer. Started a cheap notebook after that, just scribbling down what I did wrong. It feels dumb at first, but my future self is always so glad I wrote it down. That guy with the tube radios has the right idea.

My old man kept a logbook for his woodworking projects. I started a simple text file for my bike repairs, just date and what I did. It's saved me a few times when the same weird noise came back.
