Swapped $30 workbooks for free library printouts for my GED prep

I was buying those $30 GED workbooks from the bookstore, and after 2 months I realized I only used maybe 4 chapters total. My local library lets me print worksheets from their computers for 10 cents a page, and I've been pulling practice tests from their online database instead. Has anyone else swapped paid study guides for library resources and seen their scores actually improve or stay the same?
