Spent 3 hours hunting for a simple algebra worksheet online

Last night I was helping my niece with her homework and needed a basic worksheet on solving for x. I figured it would take 10 minutes to find something free and print it out. Six different websites later with half broken links and sign up walls, I finally found one buried on a teacher's personal blog from 2015. Why is it so hard to find decent practice materials that aren't behind a paywall these days? Has anyone else run into this trying to help a kid study?

Man those "free" worksheet sites are a joke. I spent two hours one night looking for fraction practice for my kid. Every third link was a dead end or wanted my credit card. Found one decent set on a teacher's blog too. It's like the whole internet turned into a subscription service overnight. Drives me crazy how hard they make it for parents just trying to help out.
