Just realized the Khan Academy videos I swore by are actually not great for algebra 2

My cousin's math teacher in Austin told me last fall to ditch Khan Academy for Paul's Online Notes, and I thought she was crazy since everyone praises Khan. But after using Paul's for 3 weeks to help my nephew with quadratic functions, the difference is night and day, Khan skips too many steps. Now I'm wondering if I've been recommending bad resources to people for years, does anyone else have a resource that looked perfect but failed you once you dug deeper?

Oh man, same thing happened to me with a coding site I used to push on everyone. It looked so polished and the lessons seemed smooth at first, but once I tried actually building something with it, I kept hitting walls because it skipped all the debugging steps. Paul's Notes is a lifesaver though, I've been using it for my own refresher on trig and it actually explains the why, not just the how. Makes you wonder how many other "perfect" tools are just pretty on the surface.
