Appreciation post: Paper worksheets versus Google Forms for my 8th grade history class
I spent 3 months using Google Forms for quizzes and the results were all over the place. Kids kept skipping questions or typing random stuff. Last week I went back to plain paper worksheets I print from a resource site. The difference was huge. They actually read the questions and wrote real answers. Plus I could see their scratch work on the map parts. Has anyone else had better luck with old school paper over digital tools?

Hang on, wait - they were actually typing emojis in the answers? That's insane to me. I've seen some goofy stuff but that's a new level of nonsense.

Jaw dropped reading this. You mean the kids actually wrote answers instead of typing "idk" or some random emoji? That's wild. I've seen middle schoolers treat a Google Form like it's a race to hit submit with nonsense just to get it over with. Paper forces them to slow down a bit, can't cheat with autofill either.
