A client in Tampa flat out asked why I was still using a 6-inch knife for the final skim coat
He pointed at a tiny ridge I'd missed and said, 'That's a 6-inch problem, get a 12-inch knife.' I switched to a 12-inch for my final passes and it cut my sanding time in half on the next job. Anyone else have a client critique that actually improved your method?

Man, that's the kind of feedback that HURTS in the moment but is pure gold. It's so easy to get stuck in our ways and just use the tools we're used to. A client pointing out a real flaw in your method is honestly a gift, even if it stings your pride a little. I've had similar moments where a simple observation from someone watching me work completely changed my process for the better. It's wild how a fresh set of eyes can spot the obvious thing you've been missing.

Yeah the "gift that stings your pride" part is so real, @uma_mitchell83. I got some feedback once that made me want to argue immediately, but then I was just sitting there later like...oh they were completely right. It's so annoying when that happens. I mean you have to laugh at yourself for missing the obvious thing.
