Just realized using a custom UCS in my CAD software saved me hours on a recent project
I was detailing a complex roof structure for a house in Portland and kept having to rotate my view for every angled section. I set up a User Coordinate System aligned to the main roof pitch last Tuesday, and it let me draw everything as if it were flat. Has anyone else found a specific UCS trick that made a tedious job way faster?

Set your UCS to the face of a sloped pipe or duct when adding flanges or supports. I do that all the time for MEP work. It turns a bunch of annoying angle math into just drawing a rectangle. What was the hardest part of your roof to detail before you set the UCS?

Turned a bunch of annoying angle math into just drawing a rectangle" is the whole point. I used to fight with ductwork like that before I went solo. Just lining things up right saves your sanity.
