My uncle swore by Dollar Store canned chicken for tacos, and I finally get it.

For months I dodged his advice, thinking canned chicken had to be gross. Then last week I needed protein for 12 tacos on a $15 budget, so I grabbed 3 cans from Family Dollar for $1.25 each. Mixed it with taco seasoning and it was honestly fine, way better than I expected. Has anyone else found a surprise hit from the canned meat aisle?

Totally GET IT now, right? Canned chicken is one of those things you avoid for YEARS then suddenly realize you were just being snobby for no reason. I did the EXACT same thing with canned tuna for tuna melts, and now I actually prefer it because you don't have to cook anything. My mom used to make this cheap chicken salad with canned chicken, some mayo, and a little bit of pickle relish and it was honestly so good on crackers. So yeah, canned chicken tacos are a total win for a budget meal that actually tastes decent.
