Took me 5 hours to realize my level was off by 1/16th of an inch

I was hanging cabinets in my kitchen and kept getting gaps that made no sense until I checked my 4-foot level against a known straight edge. Turns out it got dropped at some point and was reading level when it wasn't. Has anyone else had a tool suddenly fail on them mid-project without any obvious damage?

Stop blaming the tool man. You probably just rushed the setup or didn't check the level before you started. That's on you, not the level.

Max, you sure you're talking about the same level I am? The one I got had the vial loose right out of the box, so it wasn't about setup. I checked it before use and it was already off by a solid 1/8 inch over just a couple feet.
