TIL I was cutting baseboards wrong for like 3 years
Finally figured out I was cutting all my inside corners backwards. I was measuring the wall and cutting the baseboard to match, but the cope side was always too short. A buddy at work saw me struggling and pointed out I was holding the miter saw wrong for cope cuts. Now I just cut a 45 and cope it by hand, takes me like 15 minutes per corner instead of 45. Has anyone else had a dumb habit like this that took forever to break?

Respectfully, I gotta disagree a little. Cutting a 45 and coping by hand is great for inside corners but it's not the only way. If you're using a miter saw with good technique you can get tight inside joints without the extra coping step. Just takes a solid saw and some practice. Cope cuts are more forgiving though so maybe that's the real win here.

Yeah, wren's got a point... a good miter saw can definitely save you time if you've dialed in your technique and practice enough.
