Caulked my own baseboards after watching a guy do it at the hardware store demo

Was at the Home Depot in Austin last Saturday watching this older employee run a perfect bead on a display board, and it finally clicked how to keep my hand steady. Anyone else pick up a trick just from watching someone else do it in person?

Did you try the wrist lock grip he showed or just the arm movement?

Watching someone do it live just hits different than any YouTube video. That demo guy probably showed you the wrist motion thing where you use your whole arm instead of just your fingers right? That's the trick I picked up from an old painter at Lowes when I was getting caulk for my kitchen backsplash. He just did one smooth pull and it looked perfect, no smearing or anything. Took me like three practice runs on a piece of cardboard before I felt brave enough to try on my actual baseboard.
