I had a crack in my driveway about 9 feet long running right along the edge of the garage slab, and I figured the cheap squeeze tube stuff at the big box store was just watered down garbage that would wash out after one good rain. I finally caved and spent $12 on it because a paving crew quoted me $450 just to come out for the one crack, and I couldn't stomach that for a crack I could fit two fingers in. I cleaned it out with a wire brush and a screwdriver, blew out the dust with my leaf blower on low, then poured in the filler and packed it down with a scrap 2x4. It went on in maybe 25 minutes total and I honestly forgot about it. We got hammered with snow and ice in January, and when everything thawed in March I went out expecting to see a washed out channel. The patch is still solid, slightly darker than the rest of the driveway but sealed up tight, no shrinkage gap on the sides at all. Has anyone tried the pourable jug version instead of the squeeze tubes, and does it hold up better on wider cracks?
