Just realized the guy at the hardware store in Tulsa was wrong about my asphalt crack filler
Stopped by a hardware store on 11th street and the guy behind the counter said to skip the pour-in crack filler and just use cold patch on every crack, no matter how thin. I figured he knew what he was talking about so I dumped cold patch into a hairline crack about a quarter inch wide near my garage. Two rainstorms later the patch popped right out and left a bigger mess than the crack ever was. Called my brother in law who seals driveways for a living and he said you only use cold patch for holes over an inch, anything smaller needs the pourable stuff with a nozzle. Wound up digging the loose chunks out with a flathead screwdriver and refilling it with the pourable kind for $14 a bottle. Anyone else get burned by advice from a store employee who clearly never touched a driveway in their life?
