A silicone muffin cup just saved my pour-over setup

I kept losing coffee grinds around my V60 because the cone would rock on my mug, so I tried putting a silicone muffin cup under it as a stabilizer ring. It fits perfectly around the base, stops the wobble, and catches any drips that slip past the filter. After 3 weeks of daily use, it hasn't melted, stained, or picked up a weird smell, and it cost less than a single fancy pour-over stand. I only wish I'd thought to try it before I almost dropped $30 on a wooden holder at a shop in Portland. Has anyone else found a random kitchen item that works better than the actual coffee gear? Especially curious if there's a clever fix for the Chemex funnel being always slightly off-center.

The silicone muffin cup trick is genius, I did the same thing with a old jar lid ring to stop my V60 from sliding around on a slick counter. Have you tried bending the Chemex funnel wire slightly to shift the center?
