Spent $150 on a fancy oil extractor pump and it just made a huge mess in my garage

I saw a video online about how clean and easy oil changes are with one of those pumps you stick down the dipstick tube, so I bought a nice one. It worked okay for a second, then the hose popped off the pump body and shot old oil all over my floor and the side of my toolbox. What's the best way to clean up a big oil spill on concrete without making it worse?

Ever try to clean oil with kitty litter and just end up with a gritty, oily paste? That's my usual move. I've had decent luck with the powdered laundry soap trick, the cheap orange stuff. Sprinkle it on thick, grind it in with your boot, let it sit for a day, then sweep and hose it off.

You let that laundry soap sit for a whole day? My garage floor would be a slip and slide by hour two with the humidity here. That orange powder must really set up like concrete.
