Tried polyurethane on my shop shelves in Abilene and it turned into a sticky mess
I brushed it on too thick after sanding to 220 and two days later the stuff was still tacky with dust stuck all over it. Do I sand it all back down or just wait it out?

Been there. Put poly on a workbench top way too heavy and it stayed gummy for like a week. Sanding it back down was the only thing that actually fixed it for me, waiting just let more junk stick to it.
