That cheap brake cable housing finally bit me...

I was always the guy who grabbed the $8 housing roll from the big box store, figuring it all worked the same. Then I watched a Park Tool video where they measured compression on different housings, and the cheap stuff squished almost triple what the Jagwire did. After my rear brake felt spongy on a downhill in Flagstaff last month, I finally swapped it out and the difference was night and day. Anyone else ignore the fancy housing for years before giving in?

Hang on, you're on the cheap housing AND you lock up fine on a daily commute? How many miles a week are you actually putting in?
