Rant: was dead set against tubeless tires until i saw my buddy's setup
i watched him pull a 2 inch roofing nail out of his rear tire and just pump it back up with no sealant mess or tube swap, and that 30 second fix after a 3 month test period convinced me to ditch tubes forever. has anyone else had a conversion moment like that or am i just late to the party?

Used to be the biggest tubeless skeptic, always thought it was just another overhyped mountain bike trend. Saw my buddy's tire seal a sidewall gash on a ride and ordered a conversion kit that same night, no looking back now.

Oh man, that roofing nail story is wild. I had a similar moment last year when a buddy of mine (total gearhead, rides year round in the PNW) pulled a staple out of his tire at a group ride and we were back on the trail in like 45 seconds. I was still running tubes at the time and felt so dumb watching him. It's not just the convenience either, it's the peace of mind. I used to carry two spare tubes and a patch kit every ride, now it's just a plug tool and a little CO2. You're definitely not late to the party, I think a lot of us needed to see it work in real life to believe it.
