My mom went through the same thing last spring with a eucalyptus soap she bought at Target, and it took like three weeks of just washing everything with plain hot water before the smell faded. It's funny how one little thing like dish soap can take over a whole room, but I've noticed this happens with a lot of stuff now. Candles, plug-ins, laundry beads, it all piles up until you can't tell where one smell ends and the next one starts. I think we've all gotten so used to everything being scented that we forget how strong it actually is until it's too late. Your aunt might just need to run her glasses and dishes through a few hot cycles and air the place out, it usually fades on its own.
