The hostel owner in Lisbon knocked $12 off my bed for doing my own dishes
I stayed at a place in Lisbon for 9 days and the owner had this hand written sign in the kitchen, wash your own mug or pay 2 euros a day. I started doing my dishes every morning and on day 5 he just handed me 12 dollars back in cash and said good guests get a break. Now I look for hostels with a kitchen policy instead of free breakfast. Has anyone else had a host reward you for something small like that?
