Switched to staying in hostels for work, saved $700 but lost my patience
I tried trading my usual Airbnb in Lisbon for a 12-bed hostel dorm last month, thinking I'd bank big on the $25 a night rate. The wifi was surprisingly solid and I got some good leads from other nomads, but by day four the 2am snoring and someone's alarm going off every 15 minutes broke me. I ended up booking a private room at a different hostel for $60 a night, which still cut my costs but kept my sanity. Has anyone else tried mixing budget stays with a backup plan for when the noise gets real?
