Rant: my coworking wifi died in Medellin and my client call moved to a taco stand
My router in the El Poblado apartment cut out 10 minutes into a client call on Tuesday, so I grabbed my laptop and walked two blocks to a taco place with power outlets. I ran the whole call off my phone hotspot while eating a $4 plate of al pastor, and the client never noticed a thing. Honestly the backup plan worked better than my actual setup, which feels wrong. Does anyone else keep a list of backup spots with good wifi in every city they land in?
Keeping a full list for every city might be overkill, but I always scope out one or two spots near wherever I'm staying. The taco stand win was luck more than planning, and a hotspot can bail you out anywhere with a decent signal.
