PSA: Stop booking coworking spaces before checking the actual internet speed

I landed in Medellin last month all set to work from a popular spot that had great reviews. Three days in, I couldn't even load a Zoom call because the wifi was shared with 60 people. Now I always ask for a speed test screenshot from the manager before I pay for a day pass. Has anyone else gotten burned by a coworking space that looked good online?

Yeah that's a rough lesson. Before you commit to a spot, show up during peak hours and run a quick speed test yourself on your phone. Managers will always say the wifi is "fast", but seeing it for yourself saves the headache.
