My time zone app skill backfired with daylight saving

I learned to use a time zone app to avoid mix-ups. But it completely FAILED when daylight saving began elsewhere. How do you keep track without these errors?

Ever wonder why so many apps still get this wrong every single year? I've heard it's because a lot of them don't actually use the phone's built-in time zone system, they ping their own servers instead. That backend service needs its own update, and if it's not tested properly, the whole app shows the wrong time.

Yeah, that "ping their own servers" thing is a huge clue. It's like they're building a whole separate clock system instead of just asking your phone what time it is.
