Finally figured out the coworking space coffee machine after 3 months
I kept burning my tongue on coffee that was way too hot at this spot in Chiang Mai. Turns out people were hitting the 'hot water' button by mistake (it looks almost identical to the regular brew). I watched a guy do it two days in a row and realized it was a pattern. Since I started double checking the button before I press, my coffee comes out drinkable right away. Has anyone else run into weird design flaws in their usual workspace setup?

oh man, the exact same thing happened to me at a coworking spot in Lisbon. I just knew something was off because my coffee was always scalding but everyone else's looked normal. I started watching people and yeah, they were hitting the hot water spout by accident too. what finally worked for me was putting a little piece of colored tape right next to the correct button so I could see it from across the counter. saved my tongue and my mornings, honestly.

That tape trick is genius, I'm definitely stealing that. The coffee machine at my coworking space in Kuala Lumpur had the exact same problem but with the milk frother instead. For four months I thought I was just bad at frothing milk, turns out the steam wand button is right next to the hot water dispenser on this model. I burned my hand twice before I realized what was happening because the steam comes out super fast and sprays everywhere. The worst part is the buttons are identical, same size same color, no texture difference at all. I ended up just using a black sharpie to mark an X on the correct one, and now I don't even have to think about it.
