Blew $80 on a portable monitor that barely works on the road
Bought this cheap USB-C monitor off Amazon last month for my setup. Figured it would be great for working from hostels and cafes. Looks nice in the box but the brightness is garbage. Can't use it outside at all. The screen flickers every time I unplug my laptop. Total waste of cash for a digital nomad trying to stay productive. Anyone found a portable monitor that actually holds up in bright light?

Man, that sucks. I read somewhere that the brightness on those cheap USB-C monitors is usually garbage because they don't pull enough power from the laptop. You might need one with its own battery or a higher wattage passthrough, but those cost way more.
