Warning: I used to think free brushes were fine, but dropping $50 on Kyle's Procreate set changed my whole line work.
Honestly, the pressure sensitivity and texture on the paid brushes gave me cleaner, more consistent lines in my last portrait piece, which makes me wonder if anyone else has a specific brush pack they swear by for comic art?

Honestly, I used to say the same thing. Then I bought a cheap set that shed bristles all over every painting. A good brush holds its shape, doesn't leave hairs behind, and actually makes the work easier. That fifty bucks saved me so much frustration, it was totally worth it.
