Switched from saving every WIP layer to flattening and saving only finals

Used to keep every single layer and all my rough sketches in the file, thinking I'd need to go back later. After 3 months of files hitting 2GB each on a 256GB SSD, I started flattening everything and just keeping the final composite PNGs. Has anyone else run into storage issues with bloated project files?

I heard someone say flattening saves like 80% file size, crazy.
