I was stuck on a portrait for a week until I flipped the canvas

I was trying to paint a friend's face in Procreate and something just felt off, but I couldn't see what. After staring at it for days, I remembered a tip from a livestream and flipped the canvas horizontally. Instantly, I saw the eyes were totally uneven and the jawline was crooked. I fixed it in about twenty minutes. Does anyone else have a simple trick that fixes a piece when you're stuck?

Oh man, flipping the canvas is a lifesaver (I do it constantly). That trick where you take a photo of your sketch with your phone works the same way, just seeing it smaller and reversed shows every mistake.

Flipping it can trick you into fixing things that were actually fine. Sometimes the first gut feeling is the right one.
