I finally had a diesel job go perfectly smooth for once

Last Tuesday I had a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia come in with a bad injector on cylinder 4. Usually these jobs turn into a nightmare with seized bolts or broken fuel lines but not this time. Every single bolt came out easy like they were just put in yesterday. The fuel rail pressure dropped right where it should after the swap. I had the whole job done in under 3 hours including the test drive. My foreman even walked by and said "that's how it's supposed to go" which almost never happens around here. Got paid for 5 hours on the flat rate so that was another bonus. Anybody else ever have a day where nothing fights back? I want to hear about it because mine are rare.

My buddy who works at a shop in Tulsa had a similar thing happen on a Duramax last month. Said every bolt spun out by hand and he finished two hours early. He was so shocked he kept waiting for something to go wrong.

You ever have one of those jobs where you just KNOW something is gonna go sideways but it just... doesn't? Man, I had a Ford 6.0 last spring that was the SAME way. Every bolt came out like it was greased, even the exhaust manifold bolts nobody ever expects to be easy. I just sat there staring at the pile of bolts for a solid minute waiting for the universe to drop a wrench on my face. That feeling when everything goes right is almost SCARIER than when it goes wrong. Glad your buddy got the good luck too.
