The 2FA text from my bank had a typo, and that bothered me more than it should
Last Tuesday I got a two factor authentication code from my credit union and the message said "Your varification code is 448291." Misspelled verification. I almost typed it in anyway out of habit, but stopped. Called the bank directly using the number on my card, not the one in the text. They confirmed it was a real system message, just a typo on their end. Still, it made me think about how easy it is to slip into autopilot with these things. If a scammer sends a fake text, they don't always get the details perfect either. How many of us actually slow down and check the sender number or the wording before punching in that code? I've started reading every security message like it's a phishing test now. Has anyone else ever gotten a legit alert that looked off enough to make you second guess it?

Man, that would freak me out too! Good on you for calling the bank instead of just punching it in, that's exactly the kind of thing that gets people in trouble.
