Old library computer lab still running Windows 7 scared me
Went to the county records office last week to look up some old property stuff. Their public computer was still on Windows 7 with no updates since 2020. I saw someone log into their bank account on it. Gave me the creeps honestly. How do these public places get away with running such old systems?

Hold up - did they at least have any kind of warning popup or disclaimer before you logged in? At my local library they still have Windows 7 on one machine but they taped a sign to the monitor saying "use at your own risk, no sensitive info." That's still sketchy but at least it's honest. Was there any kind of notification or did they just let people go on it blind?

Honestly @the_sean, I used to roll my eyes at people who complained about these library computers not having warnings. Figured everyone should know better. But after watching my grandpa try to check his email on one and seeing zero signs or popups, yeah that changed my mind. A simple sticky note or confirmation box would take ten seconds and save someone a world of headache.
