Just realized I was packing my carry on for cruises completely backwards
I was on a 7 day trip out of Galveston last month and watched a woman pull a full outfit, swimsuit and all, straight out of a packing cube while I was digging through a mess of loose shirts in my bag. That's when it hit me that rolling everything into one big pile means I dig through the whole thing every single morning. So on the last sea day I sat there and used the dirty laundry bag as a divider between clean and worn stuff, which sounds dumb but saved me at least 10 minutes every time I got dressed. Now I pack in layers from the bottom up and it takes me maybe 15 minutes to unpack when I get to the room. Anyone got a system that actually works better than cubes or is that just the way to go?
That dirty laundry trick is smart. Reminds me of when I went camping with my brother and we had zero room in the car, so we just threw everything in trash bags sorted by day. Sounds gross but it worked. Day one bag, day two bag, and the dirty stuff went back in the same bag so it never mixed. My wife laughed at me until she saw how fast I was ready every morning. Cubes are nice but honestly sometimes the free stuff you already have in your room does the same job.
