The guy next door had a perfect lawn for 4 years, then one Saturday he just... stopped
I lived on Maple Street in Toledo for 6 years, and this neighbor named Ray kept his yard like a golf course. Every single week at 8am he was out there, edging, mowing, watering. Then last spring, nothing. No mow, no rake, no anything for 3 months. I finally asked him about it and he just said 'the ground told me to quit' and walked inside. Has anyone else seen a neighbor totally change like that overnight, and did it ever get explained?

The ground told me to quit" is oddly specific, maybe his soil test came back with something nasty and he just didn't want to deal with it.
