My neighbor's security camera started talking to me at 3 AM

Last Tuesday I was walking my dog around 3 AM because he had a stomach thing, and this house two doors down just got one of those fancy ring cameras with the speaker. Out of nowhere, this robotic voice goes, "You're out late again, huh?" I nearly dropped the leash. I looked at the camera and yelled "Who is this?" but it just went quiet. Next morning I saw the guy watering his lawn and asked if his camera glitches at night. He smiled and said, "Only when I tell it to." I've been taking the long way around the block ever since. Has anyone else had a neighbor use their smart home stuff to actually mess with people, or am I just the lucky winner here?

Got a buddy whose neighbor set up a motion-activated speaker that plays a weird little laugh whenever his dog walks past. Scared the hell out of the dog the first few times, now the dog just looks at the house like it's judging him. Creepy stuff, glad I don't live on that block.
