My writing group leader asked why every prompt I bring has a dead body in it
She said it at the Tuesday meeting at the library in Boise, and I laughed it off, but she was right. Twelve prompts in a row, and all of them started with a body or a funeral or someone missing. How do you pull yourself out of one kind of prompt when that is the only way you know how to start a scene?
