Had a perfect run last Thursday where everything clicked on the big Liebherr

Lifted a 12 ton AC unit onto a hospital roof in Cleveland and the wind was dead calm, the ground was stable, and the spotter didn't second guess a single signal. Anyone else ever get a day where the load feels like it's floating on air?

Saw a crane operator on YouTube talking about that same feeling, said it's like the machine reads your mind for those few minutes. Makes all the awful days worth it.

Oh man, that's the thing people don't really talk about enough (the almost meditative state you can fall into with heavy machinery). @rubybarnes, your friend hit on something I've noticed with concrete pump operators too - they talk about "being in the zone" where the boom just feels like an extension of your arm. It's like your brain and the controls sync up in a way that's hard to explain unless you've done it. Makes you wonder if that flow state is why some operators stay in the job for thirty years even though the pay isn't always great.
