Got told my tagline swing was too aggressive on a tight site in Phoenix

An old hand watched me work and said, 'You're fighting the crane, let it do the work.' I started using way smaller joystick moves, like just a quarter inch for fine control. Anyone else have to unlearn being too rough with the controls?
