Played Stardew for 60 hours before realizing you can hold down the button to pet your animals
I've been playing Stardew Valley on and off since March and I just found this out by accident last night. For 60 hours I was walking up to each chicken and cow and tapping the button like 3 separate times, thinking that was just how it worked. My wife watched me do it and said "why are you poking your chickens like that" and then held the button down on her save and got that little heart animation instantly. I felt so dumb because I had 14 animals on my farm and I was doing this whole routine one by one every single morning. The worst part is I thought my animals were just slow to warm up to me when really I was giving them like a quarter of the friendship points. Did anyone else play a game for way too long before finding out a basic control, or is it just me

two years straight" is not as bad as it sounds since the friendship thing was patched in later, but you were still missing out on petting them twice a day. If you go in the barn or coop between 6am and noon and then again after that, both count for points. I did the same tap tap tap thing til I saw someone on here say you just hold it, felt like such an idiot.
