Took me 2 years to stop overwatering my snake plant

I watered it every Sunday like clockwork, thinking more was better, until the leaves went all mushy last spring. A friend pointed out the soil was still damp and said 'these things want to be ignored'... that's when it clicked. Anyone else have that one plant they kept killing with kindness before figuring it out?
